Een verkenningstocht in de regio ten noorden van Amsterdam is een waar plezier. Deze regio kent een authentiek Nederlands landschap en is vooral bekend van de Zaanse Schans. The b&b is situated in Nieuwendam, one of the six main Waterland villages. It is perfectly located with regards to shops, public transport, Amsterdam city-centre, the new EYE Film museum and nature (Vliegenbos, Het Twiske). Pubs and restaurants within walking distance include the well-known Café 't Sluisje, Place du Nord and Goudfazant on the board of the IJ.

Discovering the region North of Amsterdam is a real treat. From b&b aan de Dijk, the delightful village Zaanse Schans can be reach by bike in less than one hour. It is characterized by green wooden houses, historic windmills, handicraft workshops showing off traditional crafts from days gone by, canals crisscrossing the landscape and small shops.

One bike-hour away lay the picturesque cities of Volendam and Marken two famous fishing villages. They are known for their small sized fishing boats, their harbors, traditional clothing, wooden shoes and theMarinapark Volendam. In the nearby village of Edam you will find the world famous Edam cheese. A day-trip to Volendam is a must-do!
